ST GILES ST GILES IN THE WOOD SS 53 18 IN THE WOOD 18/244 Lilleycrop headstone approximately - 35 metres south-south-west of the tower of the Church of St Giles

GV II

Headstone. Dated 1792 in memory of John Lilleycrop. Slate. Upright square-headed slab standing approximately 1.2 metres high. At the head is carved a winged cherubs head and there is a single wavey line framing an inscription in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering. It records the death of John Lilleycrop in 1792 and some of his relatives. The stone has been moved to here.
