4/236 2 barns approximately - 20m north-east of Hill Farmhouse

2 barns. Probably C17 and early C18. Timber framed with red brick infill, plain tile and asbestos sheet roofs. 2 adjoining barns along north-west side of farmyard, the north-western probably slightly earlier than south- eastern. Framing: 3 square panels from cill to, wall-plate and long straight tension brace on north-western barn and one square panel below eaves on south-eastern barn (left half). The north-western barn has entrances to left and centre with a ground-floor hatch to right; the south-eastern barn has a former wide cart entrance to left (now blocked and with C20 windows inserted) and a door with cambered head to centre. The right half of the south-eastern barn has been re-built in brick. A C19 gabled hen-house at right-angles to south-eastern barn is not, included. Hill Farmhouse itself, a late C20 house on the site of an earlier farmhouse, is also not included.
