School now house. Built by the Chisholm-Batten family. Early-mid C19, enlarged late C19. Roughcast over rubble, slate roofs behind crenellations and parapets, brick stacks at rear. Plan: double pile with addition right. Castellated picturesque style. Two storeys, 2:1:2 bays, first gabled centre bay breaks forward with pinnacles and coat of arms in apex, first floor left 2 many-paned pointed arch casements under one hoodmould, centre 12-pane sash window under hoodmould, right two 4-pane sash windows under one hoodmould, ground floor left 2 pointed arch casements under one hood mould, right 4-light mullioned window under hood mould, centre crenellated projecting doorcase with semi-circular arched opening; left pair blind window openings under hood moulds right end bay, left under lower crenellated roof line 2 pointed arch casements under hoodmould with similar projecting crenellated doorcase and semicircular arched head door. Probably separate entrances for boys and girls.
