WHITCHURCH RURAL CP HEATH LANE (south west side) Laurel House

II House. Early to mid C17 with late C19 and C20 alterations and additions. Timber framed with plastered infill on brick plinth. Slate roof.

Framing: small square panels, three from sole plate to former wall plate. Two framed bays with later addition to right. Two storeys. Brick stack behind ridge off-centre to left (rebuilt above roof in C20). Four window front; C20 two-light wooden casements. C20 six-panelled door between first and second windows from left with gabled porch. Left-hand gable end has collar and cambered tie-beam truss with queen struts.

INTERIOR: eaves raised, probably in late C19 or early C20. Roof trusses survive. Central truss and former right-hand end truss with tie beams, collars and queen struts. Right-hand truss with cambered tie beam.
