Mill and attached mill house. Probably of C16 origin, rebuilt C19. Rubble, stone tile roof, central rubble stack, further brick stack to each end of frontage, small gabled dormer to centre of roof. L plan, 2 storeys and attics, 5 bays, casements with glazing bars. Two door openings to house, that between fourth and fifth bays blocked, dressed stone surround, moulded stone hood on cut stone brackets; further door opening in the third bay, plank door, enclosed by a large C20 glazed porch. Further door opening to left to mill which is at right angles to the left side of the mill house straddling the millstream; the ground level rises up to this door opening which is reached by 3 rough steps. Left return adjacent to mill pond, 3 prominent buttresses with offsets, mill stream entering this building at first floor level flowing to a C19 turbine inside by Gilkes of Kendal, driving 2 pairs of stones which are working features. Single storey rubble outshut of 5 bays to right of frontage, casements; 2 door openings, plank doors. Projecting stone spiral staircase to rear of the mill house.
