Cottage. Early C17, re-modelled and extended mid C19. Timber-framed
with painted brick infill, purplish brown brick additions, machine
tile roof with fishscale bands and ornamental cresting, fretted
bargeboards and pointed finials to gables. Original T-plan with gable
projecting to front; single-storey mid-C19 addition to rear. One
storey and attic; framing: square and rectangular panels, two from
cill to wall-plate with short straight tension braces, jowled wall
posts and V-struts from collar to left gable end, three square panels to
front gable and V-struts from collar; mid-C19 fenestration, cast-
iron patterned casements, one to left and one to right of front gable,
which also has patterned casement above ledged door, one gabled eaves
dormer with fretted bargeboard and pointed finial to left of front
gable; integral yellow brick stack with twin diamond shafts to left
gable end and similar external stack (incorporating part of an earlier
stack) to right gable end. Interior: not inspected but likely to be
of interest.
