ALBERBURY WITH CARDESTON C.P. CARDESTON Lower House Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Early C19. Alberbury breccia, squared and coursed and coursed rubble, with red brick dressings; hipped slate roof. L-plan. 2 storeys. Plinth, deep eaves; pair of brick ridge stacks, and external stone and external brick end stack at rear. 3 bays divided by pilaster strips; glazing bar sashes with slightly segmental gauged brick heads; central 6-panelled door (lower 2 panels flush and top panels glazed) with radial fanlight, panelled reveals (top panels raised and fielded) and surround with reeded pilaster strips and tall shaped brackets supporting moulded cornice. 2-bay right-hand return front with wooden cross-casements and first-floor glazing bar sash to right. Former 2-storey service wing set back to left with a mixture of C19 and C20 casements. Interior not inspected.
