Details
KENLEY C.P. - SJ 50 SE 4/65 Weavers Thatch (Previously listed as 29.1.79 Yew Tree Cottage) II
Cottage. Probably mid-C16 with later additions and alterations. Coursed gritstone rubble, painted to front and back, thatch roof with coped stone verges to right gable end. 3-cell plan. One storey and attic; 3-light C20 fixed-light windows to left and right of roughly central late C20 gabled stone porch with late C19 eyebrow dormer above; stone stack behind ridge immediately to right has a red brick shaft and a rounded bread oven with stone slate cap projecting from back wall. Interior: chamfered spine beams with heavy joists to ground-floor rooms, inglenook fireplace; dog-leg staircase,to back wall (right side) with carved splat balusters. Late C20 single-storey addition to left not of special architectural interest.
