Details
EASTON PLANTING ROAD SK 92 NW (north side) 6/87 Dower House and Coach House II House and coach house. Late C18. Altered early and mid C19, and C20. Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings. Cumberland slate roof with raised stone coped gables and kneelers, 2 gable stacks, the right hand stack is external, in ashlar with plinth and cornice, the left hand stack has brick base, with moulded terracotta shaft, and single ridge stack with 2 terracotta shafts, all moulded with spirals and lozenges. Parallel ranges. 2 storey with garret, 5 bay front having central glazing bar sash flanked by 2 similar windows, one to the right being deeper. To first floor 5 similar, smaller windows, 2 with higher cills to right and over central window a 2 light plain casement in separate gable. All windows have ashlar surrounds and flat lintels with keystones. Interior retains shutters. Attached to left hand side a coach house with stepped gable containing a wide basket carriage arch, now with C20 garage doors, linked to house by single storey range.
