II*
Temple. Shown on the O.S. map as St Bartholomew's Chapel. c.1740. Limestone ashlar. The facade only of a temple comprising a Tetrastyle Ionic portico with pulvinated frieze and dentillated pediment. Behind are central double doors of 8 raised and fielded panels set in a moulded architrave with pulvinated frieze, fluted key block and moulded cornice supported on fluted brackets. Erected as part of the landscaped park for Culverthorpe Hall, for the Newton family.
