Details
LUPPITT ST 10 NE 6/38 Apple Trees - GV II Cottage. Probably late C18 - early C19, modernised circa 1970. Colour-washed local stone and flint rubble; stone rubble stack topped with plastered C20 brick; thatch roof. Plan: small 2-room plan cottage facing south-west with a gable-end stack at the right (south-east) end. The original entrance may well have been on the front originally but is now on the left end. The cottage is 2 storeys with secondary lean-to outshots on the left end and to rear. Exterior: 2-window front of C20 casements with glazing bars. The roof is gable- ended to right and hipped to left. The entrance in the left end contains a C20 door behind a porch incorporated in the outshot that end. Interior was not available for inspection at the time of this survey. Apple Trees is an attractive roadside cottage which forms part of a scattered group of listed buildings along the southern approach to Luppit.
