RANBY HIGH STREET TF 27 NW (east side) 6/36 Ranby Hall II Small country house. c.1868, C20. Stock brick. Yellow limestone ashlar dressings. Slate hipped roofs with 6 ridge stacks. 2 storey, 4 bay south front with plinth and quoins. 2 central bays project slightly with moulded pediment containing coat of arms. 4 plain sashes with 4 plain sashes above. C20 conservatory to right. West front with large porte-corchere with 2 free standing rectangular rusticated columns on square plinths, entablature and central canted bay window with 2 central round headed fixed lights and single flanking round headed fixed lights. Doorway with flanking rusticated pilasters. Inner moulded ashlar surround with lower scrolls and upper narrow fixed lights. 4 ornate brackets support entablature and 2 steps lead up to half glazed doors. C20 plain sash to right with C19 moulded architrave. Single plain sash above with moulded architrave. Interior with 3 ornately carved contemporary fireplaces, moulded cornices, dadoes and contemporary 2 flight return staircase with simply carved tread ends, 2 moulded bannisters to each tread and moulded hand rail.
