Cottage, early C17, extended in C20. Timber framed, plastered, roof thatched. Aligned approx. NW-SE, aspect NE, originally of 2 bays, extended to NW by one bay in C17. Axial chimney stack at inner end of NW bay, C19. C20 extension to rear with near-flat roof of corrugated asbestos. 2 lean-to extensions to NW, C20, roofed with sheet metal and corrugated asbestos. Small lean-to extension at E corner, C20, roofed with interlocking concrete tiles. Single storey with attics. Plain boarded door in thatched gabled porch, C20. 2 casement windows and one fixed light, C20, and C20 casement window in gabled dormer. Framing exposed internally. Arched braces to cambered central cross beam of original cottage, below heads of posts, collar above. Original studded partition below cross beam, partly present, no partition above. Jowled corner posts. Arched braces in walls, rising from posts to wallplates and SE tiebeam, inside studs, not trenched. Primary straight bracing in SE bay, which has wallplates end- joined to those of the original cottage. Original lodged longitudinal joists of vertical section, unchamfered, in middle bay. No floor in SE bay.
