EXBOURNE EXBOURNE SS 60 SW 5/46 Town Farm and Town Farm Cottage GV II
Farmhouse and cottage, originally 1 house. C17 altered in C20. Rendered cob walls. Gable ended thatched roof. 3 brick stacks, 2 axial, 1 at right-hand end. Plan: Originally 3 rooms with through passage, lower end to the right. Large wing at front of inner room probably later Cl7. The house was modernised in the circa mid C20. Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 2-window front of mid C20 metal frame casements of 3 lights. C20 part-glazed door at centr. Lower 1-window addition at right-hand end. Large wing at the left end with C20 casement on end wall at each floor and part glazed door to their right. Interior: A few roughly chamfered ceiling beams are visible but any other surviving features have been concealed by the C20 modernisation. This house has a prominent position in the centre of the village.
