Cottage. Early to mid C18. Rendered, probably over cob. Gable-ended thatched roof.
Red-brick end stacks.
Plan: Two-room central-entrance plan, consisting of larger principal room to left
with end stack and front entrance at its right-hand end, and smaller room to right
with external end stack. Central dog-leg staircase in continuous outshut at rear.
Two storeys with one storey outshut.
Exterior: Symmetrical fenestration. Three first-floor early C20 three-right leaded
wooden casements and 2 ground-floor late C19 or early C20 small-paned wooden
casements. Central late C19 or early C20 gabled wooden porch.
Interior: Many C18 fixtures and fittings. Left-hand ground-floor room with plain
joists and open stone fireplace to left with wooden lintel. Pair of arched recesses
in rear wall and window seat to front. Two old boarded doors in right-hand rear
corner of room, with decorative wrought-iron strap hinges. C18 door in right-hand
wall leading to right hand room, with 4 raised and fielded upper panels and 2 beaded
flush lower panels. Dog-leg staircase rising from right-hand end of rear wall
(opposite front door), with stick balusters and plank and muntin door at foot with
decorative wrought-iron strap hinges. Rest of interior not inspected.
