KINGSTON VILLAGE CENTRE SX 64 NW 4/41 Donkey stable opposite Robins Farm

GV II

Donkey stable. C19. Rubble and slate roof. Small rectangular structure set gable to road and part set into slope; to left is an entrance opening with a quadrant of wall in cut squared block, to an opening in the corner of the stable. Interior retains the hayloft floor on an iron grid. This is reputed to be a stable for the donkeys used in bringing up goods from the coast, which here is some 2 1/2 km away and c.100 metres lower. The building remains intact and is an interesting reminder of the history of the village.
