Details
HIGHAMPTON SS 50 NW 3/93 East Totleigh Farmhouse - - II House, formerly farmhouse. Plastered cob and rubble walls. Gable ended slate roof. 3 brick stacks, one axial, one at right gable end and one to rear outshut. Plan: originally 3-room and through passage plan, lower end to the right. Hall stack backing onto passage and inner room heated by gable end stack. Partitions removed in C20 at lower side of passage and between hall and inner room. In C19 outshut added along rear wall incorporating staircase and wash-house. Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 4-window front of early C19 16-pane hornless sashes. C20 timber and glazed porch to right of centre with part-glazed door behind. Outshut runs the full extent of rear wall. Interior: hall fireplace has high chamfered wooden lintel with straight-cut stops.
