DENTON MEADOW LANE SJ 99 SW (west side)

7/49 Haughton Dale - House

- II

House, formerly 2 houses. Early Cl9. Roughly dressed stone with slate roof. 2 rooms deep by 2 wide with 2 storeys and a later addition to rear left which is in a similar style. Symmetrical 2-bay elevation with quoins, first floor sill band and overhanging eaves to a shallow pyramidal roof with central brick chimney stack. Blocked doors to left and right have elliptical-arched heads and hoodmoulds. Two 3-light mullion windows on each floor have elliptical-headed lights and hoodmoulds. Centrally placed heraldic panel at first floor. Other windows at sides and rear repeat the same design (some having 2 lights) and the addition which is pebbledashed does the same but in timber rather than stone. Blocked first floor door to right return which also has a seemingly spurious 1713 datestone. Principal rooms have ornate fire surrounds with side scrolls.
