6/44 Gate-piers, gates and railings to - the churchyard east of the church of St Mary GV II

Gate-piers, gates and railings to the churchyard east of the church. Late C19. Coursed stone rubble piers with freestone caps, cast iron gates and railings, the railings on a stone rubble plinth. 2 square section gate-piers with 2 tier pyramidal freestone capping. Pair of cast iron gates with spear finials above the top and middle rail, the middle rail with a frieze of cast iron foliage. The cast iron railings are divided into bays by baluster verticals with elaborate cast iron brackets fixed to the balusters on the churchyard side; spear finials to the verticals and balusters. Group value with the church.
