SOUTH TURTON, TOTTINGTON ROAD (north side), Top o'th' Knotts Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Late C17, roof raised later C18; date stone reads: "ROBERT AND/MARY HALLAM/1784". Dressed stone with quoins and slate roof, brick stacks. Two storeys, four bays. Ground floor has casement windows to 1st and 3rd bays, the later in former entrance. 2nd and 4th bays have windows with label moulds, the former with 4-light single-chamfered mullions, the latter with casement. 1st floor has casement window; 2nd bay has flat-faced-mullioned window of 4 lights. Plain entrances to 1st and 2nd bays. Gable-end and cross- axial stacks. Rear has later outshut and 4-light double- chamfered-mullioned window.
