Details

SNAITH AND COWICK COWICK ROAD SE 6422 (north side) Snaith 12/52 Beech Grove GV II House. Mid C19. Brick, rendered and incised in imitation of ashlar; ashlar dressings. Double-depth plan with 2-room central entrance-hall south front, stairhall to rear. 2 storeys, 3 bays; symmetrical. Plinth. Tuscan porch with columns supporting plain entablature and hood; panelled door beneath moulded cornice and plain overlight in panelled reveal. 12-pane sashes with margin lights, channelled cambered wedge lintels with raised fluted keys, sills and sill band. Bracketed eaves. Double-span hipped roof. Corniced end stacks with octagonal and square pots. Interior. Open well staircase with ramped handrail and turned balusters; round-arched openings to lower and upper halls with archivolts and scrolled brackets; marble chimney pieces, moulded cornices, panelled doors in architraves to main rooms.
