House now restaurant with accommodation above. Possibly early C18. Reputed to be C16. Rendered and painted stone rubble with slate-hung gable end on harbour side. Slate roof with gable ends to main range. Projecting wing jettied over stream once had hipped end. This has now been remodelled, the wing enlarged with a hipped end facing the harbour. Probably originally of 2 rooms with jettied wing over stream forming overall 'L' shape plan. Entrance in outer angle of projecting wing and main range has been retained. Plan altered internally. 3 storeys, asymmetrical elevations. Elevation facing Talland Street of 3 storeys. Ground floor with 16-pane window on left and canted C19 bow window with decorative glazing bars and beaded mullions. Both beneath wide timber lintel. Further to right bay window and glazed door with similar glazing bars. First floor with C19 2-light casement. Small rectangular window and further 2-light casement to right. Second floor with casements. Elevation towards harbour with gable end to main range. Ground floor with 18-pane C19 shop window. 2-light casement above in opening for sash and inserted 3-light casement in gable end. Projecting wing to right completely remodelled in C20 with C20 fenestration in side wall overlooking harbour. The projecting wing is jettied over the stream with oak props below thus giving premises its name. Upper floors not inspected.
