PATRINGTON ENHOLMES TA 32 SW 7/38 Cart-shed/granary range 1.10.86 at Enholmes Farm GV II

Cart-shed/granary range, with blacksmith's shop, stables and stablehands' lodgings. 1849 for William Marshall. Orange-brown brick with orange rubbed-brick dressings. Pantile roof. Rectangular on plan: central cart- shed section with blacksmith's shop to left, stables to right; granary and stablehands' lodgings over; forms east side of farmyard. 2 storeys. West side: 6 first-floor openings. 6 segmental-headed cart openings (3 to left open, 3 to right with double board doors); to left, a stable door and 2- light window with vertical glazing bars; to right, a stable door, pair of board doors (one with 5-pane overlight, other with blind 6-pane overlight) and three 2-light windows. All openings with segmental arches. First floor: 3 louvred hatches, (one with a board door), two 12-pane sliding sashes and another board door. Hipped roof. Axial stack to right, end stack to left. East side: 6-bay single-storey lean-to cart-shed with roof supported on square brick piers. Blacksmith's shop contains original forge and fittings. Part of large early industrial farm.
