ELWICK HALL CHURCH BANK, NZ 43 SE (off west side), Elwick Village. 3/11 Elwick Hall and Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 Elwick Hall 16.11.67 Flats.

Rectory, now private house, and 4 flats in right wing. Mid/late C18; wings of c.1790 (left) and c.1800 (right). Roughcast on random limestone rubble; hipped, clay pantile roof, sprocketed at eaves; rebuilt stack to left. 2 storeys, 5 bays including slightly projecting end cross wings. Left wing, projects as ½-octagon having 3 mid C19 sash windows with glazing bars and painted sills. Right wing, has mid C19 sash window with glazing bars to first floor, blank on ground floor. Of the 3 middle bays, that to left has late C20 French windows. Right-hand side bay has late C20 glazed door and mid C19 first-floor sash window with glazing bars. Other windows have early C19 tripartite sashes with glazing bars and painted sills. Left return of 4 bays: re-sashed; right return: altered in mid/late C20.
