Farmhouse. Early - mid C19, with alterations of later C19 and some C20 alterations.
Painted slatestone rubble; slate-hung at the front and the left side with rag slates.
Rear outshut rendered. Hipped slate roof with crested ridge tiles, in 2 spans.
Stack with rendered shaft to right and left in the front range, and to rear left in
the rear range.
Plan: The front of the house faces the garden. Double depth plan, with central
entrance and principal room to front left and right, each heated from an end stack.
There is a stair hall at the right side, with an unheated dairy to rear right; the
kitchen is to rear left, heated from an end stack. At the rear, there is a single
storey unheated outshut behind the dairy and the passage, forming a rear porch
entrance.
Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical 3-window front. Ground floor has central C20 half-
glazed door with margin-glazed overlight. C19 16-pane sash to right and left with
cambered arches. First floor has three C19 16-pane sashes with cambered arches. To
right there is a window to the cellar, with cambered arch. The left end is blind.
The right end has 2-light 3-pane C19 casement at ground floor to right, and C20
window with cambered arch at ground floor to centre. At first floor there is a
central C19 24-pane sash lighting the stair, wit cambered arch. At the rear, at
first floor, the single storey outshut is to left, with plank door, C20 2-light
casement and C19 6-panelled door; C20 8-pane window at the right end. In the main
range, there is C19 16-pane sash at ground floor to right with cambered brick arch.
