Details
KIMBLESWORTH AND PLAWSWORTH HOLMHILL LANE NZ 24 NE (East side, off) 7/41 Former threshing barn and 2 gingangs 40 metres east of Harbour House II
Farmbuildings now used as loose-boxes and storage. Probably late C18 threshing barn with early C19 gingang on north and gingang dated 1831 on east. Coursed and squared rubble; pantiled roofs.
2-storey, 6-bay barn has tooled quoins. Altered openings including several blocked first-floor breathers. Steeply-pitched roof has raised verges with reverse-stepped gables. Square-plan gingang on north: openings in west and north with rectangular piers; some later brick infill; roof hipped over north wall. Similar gingang on east: dated stone plaque on east wall; blocked openings; large C20 opening in south wall; roof hipped over east wall; C20 lean-to addition on north is not of special interest.
Barn has 5 roof trusses with halved-and-pegged principals and double collars carrying 2 tiers of purlins.
