3/140 No. 2 Tregoose Cottage

GV II

Probably 2 semi-detached cottages. C18 but may be a remodelling of an older house. Painted rubble, and rendered cob walls, slate sills, wooden lintels. Corrugated asbestos roof with brick chimneys over gable ends. Scantle slate roof to gable ended rear wing. Plan originally probably 2 similar single-cell cottages with entrances towards middle. Shallow projection possibly for stair at rear middle. Left hand cottage extended in the C19 by service wing at right angles with outshut at rear left, so now an overall irregular L, and one house. Two storeys. Regular 4-window north-west front doorway right of middle with C20 door. The other original doorway, left of middle, now with window, blocked under. Circa late C19 4-paned horned sashes. Interior not inspected. This was probably a pair of farm workers cottages and lies to one side of the former farmhouse, No. 1 Tregoose Cottage qv., and faces in the opposite direction.
