PARISH OF SHIRIAND & HIGHAM MAIN ROAD 38/39 58 58/39 59 6/49 (East Side) 31-1-67 Bull Farmhouse, Higham GV II Farmhouse. C15, 1672, altered in C18, C19 and C20. Coursed squared sandstone. Gritstone dressings and quoins to projecting bay. C20 concrete tile roof. Stone stack near south gable, north gable stack brick quoined with stone. Both with diamond set stone pots. Two storeys, irregular fenestration. Advanced bay to north. Four C20 casements in early C19 flush surrounds, with C20 fixed pane window in northern advanced bay. C20 door to south of this bay. Above, three 2-light flush mullion windows with C20 casements, central one C20, others C18. In northern bay, similar window to that below. Over this, stone plaque inscribed 'PFF 1672'. Interior:- two large late medieval cruck trusses, that to south a closed cruck truss with lower part filled by stud partition. To north, arched braced base cruck with steeply canted tie, principals start above tie. Tie, and braces are moulded. Principals are stopped and chamfered. Also to north, deeply moulded bressumer. To east arch in beam indicating site of former doorway.
