Lime warehouse, now house. Circa late C18 or early C19, some C20
alterations. Banded rubble in slatestone and Devon limestone. Asbestos
slate roof with gable ends.
Plan: the rectangular plan building is on the River Tiddy, but there is no
evidence that this might have been a watermill; it appears to have been built
as a warehouse for the lime industry.
Exterior: 2 storeys with loft. 6 bays; the ground floor has 2 bays to left
with 2-light casements with flat brick arch, and 3 similar 2-light casements
to right. First floor has 2 casements to left and 3 to right, as at ground
floor, with a loading door above the double doors, with C20 glazing and
segmental brick arch; C20 external stair leading to the loading door. 2
hipped dormers, each with C20 casements. The right side is on the river,
with loading doors at all 3 levels, upper 2 with C20 casements inserted.
The left side has C20 door at upper ground floor level; C20 half-glazed door
at loft level, with access over bridge to the road at the left side. The
rear has wide segmental-arched double doorway, 2 casements to right and 2 to
left, with doorway between the 2 to left; some casements are C18, with strap
hinges. At first floor, 2 casements to right and 2 to left with central
loading door with double glazed doors inserted of C20.
Interior: Not inspected.
