GV II

Pair of attached houses with attached stable, now one house with cafe. Late C18 with
some later alterations. Slatestone rubble, partly slate-hung. Slate roof, partly
slurried, with gable ends and gable end stacks.
Plan: Cottage to left of 2-room plan, with rear outshut for service rooms. Central
cottage of one-room plan with lower roof level, integral stable with loft over at end
right.
First cottage to left of 2 storeys, upper storey slate-hung, symmetrical 2-window
range; first floor has C20 window and 2-light casement with L hinges. Ground floor
has 3 openings with segmental heads, all with 2-light C20 casments, central opening
formerly door. 2nd cottage to right has C20 door with timber lintel, C20 casement
and door, both with timber lintels; two C20 casements at first floor. Straight joint
to stable to right, with central door and upper loading door, window opening with
brick segmental head to left and small single light with granite lintel to right.
Dovecot on roof in course of building at time of survey (August 1986). Left side has
single rubble lean-to with no roof.
Rear and interior not inspected.
