Public house. C17 with later alterations and additions. Roughcast stone with
slate roofs. Short C17 range has longer ranges at right-angles to north-west
and south-east; late C20 wings to north of no special interest. Two storeys.
North-west range has south elevation of four bays; 1st two bays have gallery under
pentice, with low timber-framed walling. 3-light wooden-chamfered-mullioned
window to 3rd bay with similar window above; entrance in lean-to porch with
casement above; leaded glazing. Older part has casement window with gabled
dormer above with 4-light casement; east elevation similar, with later single
storey extensions; large cross-axial stack with rounded shafts. South-east
range of four bays; two casement windows and two entrances to ground floor.
three sashed windows with glazing bars and small casement to 1st floor. Gable-
end and cross-axial stacks. Interior has chamfered beams and wide-boarded
door with wooden pegs and strap hinges.
