SK 26 NW PARISH OF NETHER HADDON HADDON ROAD 2/32 (East Side) Bowling Green Farmhouse and attached garden walls and steps GV II
Farmhouse and attached garden walls and steps. Early C19. Ashlar gritstone facade, coursed squared gritstone elsewhere, with gritstone dressings. Slate roof hidden by plain parapets with ridgeback copings, and stone ridge stacks. Plinth and plain bands between storeys and at eaves level. Two storeys, six bays. Glazed panelled door with divided overlight in plain opening and to east two glazing bar sashes, also in plain openings. Two similar sashes to west, one either side of larger opening with glazing bar sash over two opening timber panels, forming a type of door. Above six glazing bar sashes in plain openings. Attached to east flight of steps, with ridgeback coped side walls, up to first floor door. Attached to west side of house stepped garden wall with triangular sectioned copings. Wall continues round to front of house with flight of steps down to the fields to centre of southern wall. Steps have tall square piers to either end with large banded ball finials and ridgeback coped side walls with plain square pier half way down. Farmhouse on the site of the 'new' bowling green after it was moved from the terraces next to Haddon Hall.
