Details
CALSTOCK COTEHELE QUAY SX 4268-4368 9/96 Warehouse GV II Warehouse, now the Quay Museum. Mid C19 with later alterations. Slatestone rubble. Half-hipped slate roof with ridge tiles. Plan: Large 3-storey warehouse ; loading at upper storeys at the right end, which faces the quay. Probably originally had a ground floor office at the right end. Exterior: 3 storeys, asymmetrical front. Ground floor has 3 doors and 5 window openings, all with cambered heads, some windows with shutters, one to right with 20- pane sash of C19. Above each outer door is a loading door, blocked to right, and 4 central doors, and small single windows with shutters. Second floor has 3 gabled dormers, each with 2-light casement. Lower 2-storey addition at the left side, with door and window at ground floor, small upper loading door. The right end has C20 window at ground floor ; first and second floors have tall loading doors. The rear has the same arrangement of doors and loading doors at first floor as to front, and 3 gabled dormers at second floor with 2-light casements. Ground floor to left has similar 20-pane sash and door; single storey lean-to along the rest of the rear, with double doors, a window and small single door. Interior: Not inspected.
