House. Mid C16 for Pickering family (coat-of-arms over front door), added to C14 tower, on moated site, which was taken down in mid C18. Later additions and alterations include mid C19 remodelling. Coursed, squared rubble, wet-dashed to front. Graduated slate roofs, hipped to north end and wing. 'T'-shaped plan. 2 storeys, 4 bays overall (3:1). Panelled door with two 2-light windows to each floor on left, one to each floor in wing to right, and single-light window above. Chamfered surrounds and hoodmoulds with labels to all openings. Original mullioned-and-transomed windows were replaced by present windows, with their pointed inner heads and wooden mullions, in C19. Stepped, rendered chimney.
