4/242 Hall End Farmhouse at NGR ST 8591 8662 G.V. II

Farmhouse. Mid - late C17, a lock on the front door bears the date 1674. Rendered; plain tiled roof; brick stacks. L-plan gabled vernacular farmhouse. South elevation. 2 storeys and attics in steep gables. Three C19 and C20 2- and 3-light casement windows with segmental heads. Central plank door in double ogee moulded surround and with depressed 4-centred head, (large wooden bar on inside); C20 porch under flat stone hood on brackets. Stair turret to rear in re-entrant angle. Interior: door surround to south west room has guilloche moulding and double scroll stops and depressed 4-centred head; door to north gable is heavily panelled with double ovolo moulded surround and 4-centred head; ovolo moulded beams with converging stops; spice cupboard in south west room and in first floor east room where it is finely carved; first floor door surrounds all have ovolo mouldings and stops; extended collar beam roof.
