the description shall be amended to read:
Barn. Early C19, with possible earlier origins. Granite rubble with granite dressings; half-hipped grouted scantle slate roof replaced with corrugated asbestos at rear. Long rectangular plan: probable threshing floor to right with rear doorway approached by flight of stone steps with C20 repairs. 2 storeys. Granite lintels over ground-floor doorways (blocked to right with window), over windows and over first-floor loading doorway. Similar window openings to other elevations. Left gable end has granite lintel over cart opening. Blocked doorway and ventilation holes to rear. Interior has late C19/C20 A-frame roof with nailed collars. A substantial example of the 2-level type of barn which had become a characteristic feature of many Cornish farmsteads from the late C18, and forming part of a good group. ------------------------------------
ST BURYAN BURNEWHALL SW 42 SW 8/263 Barn at approximately 25 metres - south-south-west of Burnewhall Farmhouse GV II Barn. Circa early C19 (possibly a remodelling of an older building). Granite rubble with granite dressings. Grouted scantle slate half-hipped roof replaced with corrugated asbestos at rear. Plan: Long rectangular plan with probably threshing floor towards the right with its rear doorway approached by flight of stone steps (repaired in the C20). Exterior: 2 storeys. Unaltered elevations with original openings. Left-hand side of east-south-east front obscured by C20 farm building. Approximately central doorway, another doorway (partly blocked) towards the right with winnowing window over; window to first floor right of middle; small window left of middle and loading doorway over. Possibly other opening hidden, to the left. Interior not inspected.
