Details

ST GORAN SX 04 SW 4/71 Loecot - II

House. C17; with alterations of C19 and additions and alterations of C20. Rendered stone rubble, partly in cob. Slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stack to right with brick shaft. Rear lateral stack to left with rubble shaft, stepped with slate weathering. Plan: 2-room and cross passage plan. The hall is to left heated from a rear lateral stack and the parlour to right heated from a gable end stack. There is a large C20 addition at the right end and a C20 porch at the front. Exterior: 2 storeys, an asymmetrical 2-window front. Ground floor has late C19 plate-glass sash to left; C20 wooden flat-roofed porch with outer 4-panelled door and inner C20 half-glazed door; to right a C20 2-light 6-pane casement. At first floor to centre a C19 2-light 3-pane casement and to right a C20 4-pane window. Set back to right is the 2-storey C20 addition. The left end has C19 8-pane sash at ground floor and C19 2-light 3-pane casement at first floor with cambered brick arches. At the rear there is a large external stack to right and at ground floor to right a small C19 4-pane window; at ground floor to left a C20 3-light 6-pane casement. Interior: Not fully inspected. The entrance passage has a C19 4-panelled door to left and right. There is a straight stair inserted in the full width of the passage. The room to right at ground floor has roughly hewn ceiling beams.
