ST GORAN SX 04 SW 4/61 Barn about 10 metres west of - Bodrogan Farmhouse

GV II

Barn. Probably C17; largely rebuilt circa C18, with C19 additions. Slatestone rubble, partly rebuilt in C20 concrete block and with some brick and granite dressings. Hipped corrugated asbestos roof. The horse engine shed at the rear has a slurried scantle slate roof. Plan: Large rectangular barn, in 3 main builds; the right end appears to be the earliest building. There is a pigeon loft to right and left. To rear right, there is a C19 horse engine shed, built into the bank at the rear. Exterior: 2 storeys, an asymmetrical front with random doors and window openings. to right, there is a cart entry with double doors and a single doorway; one row of square pigeon holes with slate perches above. At ground level to right there is a drain hole. The middle section of the barn has two windows at ground and first floor, with the upper level rebuilt in C20 concrete block. To left, there are three doorways at ground floor with segmental brick arches, the central opening with a 6- pane window inserted. There are two rows of square pigeon holes above and two blocked window openings. The right end has granite quoins and one small window opening at ground floor; C20 lean-to. The left end has late C19 stone rubble lean- to. At the rear, there is a polygonal horse engine shed to left, built into the bank, with small window openings. To right there is a double doorway leading to loft level, approached by a ramp over a ditch; below the doorway, at ground floor level, there is a 2-centred arched chamfered granite doorway with step stops, which appears to be in situ. To right there are two doors at loft level and one window opening at ground floor. Interior: Not accessible.
