12/51 How End Farmhouse and adjoining barns
II
Farmhouse and barns. Probably early C18 with extension dated 1764 over rear entrance and initials J.J. & J. Farmhouse of whitewashed sandstone rubble on squared plinth with flush quoins. Welsh slate roof, ashlar chimney stacks. Barns of sandstone rubble with corrugated iron roof; and clay repaired with sandstone and breeze blocks, sandstone slate roof. 2-storey, 4-bay farmhouse. C20 door in painted stone surround. C20 door to right in late C19 painted stone surround. Single-pane sash windows in painted stone surrounds. Original blocked fire window on upper floor right. Rear wall has C20 steel casements in mid C18 architraves. 2-storey stone barn to right has plank doors and slit vents. Further adjoining barn to right is single-storey, the rear wall of clay, the front wall rebuilt in stone. Plank doors and slit vents. End wall right has C20 repairs.
