Details

ST EWE POLMASSICK SW 94 NE 1/44 Honey Cote - GV II

House. Circa late C17 - early C18, with few later alterations. Roughcast stone rubble. Slurried slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stacks with rendered shaft to left and brick shaft to right. Plan: 2-room plan; the room to left was probably the kitchen and the room to right the parlour; each room heated from a gable end stack. Central entrance. Single storey C20 addition to rear. Exterior: 2 storeys, nearly symmetrical 3-window front. Ground floor has wide recessed doorway with wooden lintel over, probably widened in C19, with C19 2-light 6-pane casement annd C19 plank door in 2 panels. C19 2-light 6-pane casement to right and left. First floor has three C19 2-light 6-pane casements with L hinges. The right end is blind. The left end has large external stack, stepped, with slate weathering. At the rear there is a single storey C20 addiiton with monopitch roof, C20 doors and windows. Interior: Not fully inspected. There are C18 moulded ceiling beams in the room to left, with a plank door leading into the room.
