Details

THORNBURY THE PLAIN 4/99 (north side) ST 6390 21.9.52 Nos 10 and 11 (formerly listed as premises adjoining and to south of Registry Office) GV II Pair of mid/late C18 houses. Rendered, slate roofs; one old and one new brick stack between Nos 10 and 11. Two storeys and attic, recent roof- lights to No 10, hipped dormer to No 11. Two windows to each house; paired 16-pane sashes on ground and first floors. Two storey bay to each house, with angled corners, recessed entrance with depresed arch. Eaves cornice with fretted moulding to No 11. Gabled central wing at rear, with arch head windows, part blocked. Interior: (No 10): Front ground floor room has shell recess, fretted moulding to cornice on fireplace wall and to dado. Panelling to dado height, fluted pilasters to door surround. First floor has plain chamfered beam, cupboard with 'L' hinges.
