Railway viaduct over the River Fal
II
Railway viaduct on the St Austell - Truro line; carrying the railway over the River
Fal. 1898; replacing an earlier viaduct of 1859. Rock-faced granite rubble with
stone dressings and brick parapet.
The viaduct is of seven round arches, the arches with rusticated granite voussoirs
and imposts. Piers are of rectangular plan, battered, with stone coping and brick
parapet. At the east end of the viaduct the flank wall is splayed back and ramped
down, with stone coping.
