ST 45 NW WINSCOMBE MAX MILL LANE Barton 3/18 Max Mill Farmhouse

IT Farmhouse. C.17 and later. Rendered, pantiles. Originally L-plan, additional wings joining to leave small central court. South elevation has 2 storeys, 3 bays. Central C.19 glazed porch. Stone doorcase with chamfered four centred arch and C.17 door with raised moulded muntins and rails. Large stack and small casement in original (west) wing. C.19 east and north wings and further later extensions all have modern glazing and interiors. In main building there are deep chamfered beams. Room in wing has C.17 corner cupboard. West room has C.17 chamfered stopped stone fireplace and C.17 panelling. East room has moulded stone fireplace and an early C.18 display cupboard with fluted pilasters.
