1/71 Lych gate in churchyard of St Helen -
GV II
Lychgate. Early C20: Timber framed on stone plinth with a stone slate roof. Rectangular body. Stone plinth to sides. Four timber posts to each side, those at centre set closer together and filled with cusped wooden tracery and a trefoil to each apex. Arched braces to tie beams with arched braces above connecting to the principals. King posts and V-strutting to both gables. The western tie beam is inscribed. "If Thou Wilt Enter Into Life Keep The Commandments". The eastern tie beam is inscribed. "Let Thy Loving Spirit Lead Them Forth Into The Land Of Righteousness." This item is included for group value.
