3/11 Trevemper Bridge (formerly
listed as Old Bridge at Trevemper)
30.5.67
II
Bridge over the River Gannel. The present structure is of early C19, although the
bridge was named in 1613 and repaired from the County Rate in 1701. Slatestone
rubble with granite dressings. The bridge is a single span, with a round arch with
dressed granite arch-ring and keystone. On the upstream and downstream sides there
are two triangular cutwaters with granite quoins and refuges. On the upstream side
the parapet wall has been rebuilt and reinforced, blocking the refuges on this side.
The parapet walls are about 70 centimetres high, with granite coping. The bridge is
about 15 metres long and about 2 metres wide.
