GRAMPOUND FORE STREET (south side), Grampound SW 9248-9348 WITH CREED 7/67 House immediately west of Penwyn - House
GV II
House. Early C19, with some alterations of later C19 and few later alterations. Slatestone rubble with granite dressings and quoins. Asbestos slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stacks with brick shaft. Plan: Double depth plan, with central entrance and principal room to front left and right, of equal size. Shallow rear service rooms. Exterior: 2 storeys, nearly symmetrical 3 window front. Ground floor has central C19 6-panelled door with overlight and granite voussoirs. To right there is an early C19 20-pane sash with granite voussoirs; to left a late C19 canted bay with 4 round-arched lights to front forming a Lombard frieze, with cornice over. At first floor, all early C19 sashes, central 16-pane sash with 20- pane sash to right and left, all with granite voussoirs. The right end abuts the adjoining house. The left end is blind. There is a single storey lean-to of later C19 to rear, with 2-light 6-pane casement at the left side. At the rear there is a central C20 8-pane sash lighting the stair, C19 2-light 3-pane casement to right and left. Ground floor has C20 door in C20 porch with late C19 4-pane sash to left. The lean-to to right has C20 2-light casement to rear. Interior: Not accessible.
