Details
LUDGVAN SW 53 SW 8/20 Rosevidney Farmhouse - GV II Farmhouse. C17, remodelled in the C18. Painted incised stucco to front, otherwise painted rubble (left hand gable end rebuilt with concrete C20). Grouted scantle slate roofs with gable ends except asbestos slate at rear left. Rubble stack over right-hand gable, brick stack over gable of rear wing. Plan: L-shaped 3 room plan with stair turret in the angle and single storey C19 stables addition at right hand side of rear wing. 2 rooms at the front, probably parlour, left, original kitchen, right, with large mostly blocked fireplace, cross passage between leading to stair turret and 1 room plan kitchen wing at right angles behind the right hand room. Front wall probably partly rebuilt or remodelled in the C18 or early C19. Exterior: 2 storeys. Nearly symmetrical 3 window south front with approximately central doorway. Chamfered lintels over ground floor openings, possibly complete outer frame of 3-light mullioned window, right. 6-panel C19 door with dog-tooth detail to lock rail. Circa early C19 16-pane sashes to left hand openings, otherwise later C19 or C20 horned sashes. Rear: has circa late C18 stair window with vertical wooden glazing bars and leaded panes of crown glass. Interior: C18 carpentry and joinery structure and features including bowtell-moulded beams, 2 panel doors, softwood muntin and plank partitions and dog-leg stair.
