Slurried scantle slate roofs, hipped over front porch and left hand end, otherwise gable ends. Dressed granite axial stack over cross wall towards right, rubble stack at rear gable of wing and lateral stacks to front left and over rear wall. Plan: overall L-shaped plan with 3 room and through passage plan along the front; service or parlour wing behind the left hand room; a 2-storey porch in front of the passage and a large probably C18 stair tower behind the right hand room. The C16 or C17 hall is on the right of the passage and is heated by a large rear lateral fireplace. Far right is a C19 1-room plan dairy extension. Exterior: 2 storeys. Overall slightly irregular 4 window south front. 2 storey porch towards left with original moulded doorway with hoodmould over (now fitted with window). Opening over reduced circa late C19. Most windows are circa late C19 horned sashes. Present doorway right of porch. C17 3-light window with mullions removed to middle of left hand wall and C17 chamfered doorway at rear of through passage. Interior: C17 or earlier features include large moulded hall fireplace with scrolled stops and moulded chamfered doorway with pyramid stops from hall to passage behind right hand parlour. C18 stair. Interior of left-hand house, first floor and roof structure not inspected but may be original. The C17 features that survive are of high quality and this was obviously one of the most important houses in this part of Cornwall in the C17 or earlier.
