Farmhouse, now house. C17, remodelled and extended c.1840. Coursed rubble,
stone dressings, slate roof with gable stacks. L-plan. 2 storeys and attic,
3 windows, all 4-light casements with 4-centred arched heads in timber surround
with relieving arch and drip mould, central porch has door in similar surround
and lancet windows at sides, attic has 3 dormers with 2-light casements of same
design, barge boards with pierced trefoils, spike finials and pendants, single
storey wing to south with external gable stack. North side has door in moulded
surround, large 9-light window with leaded lights under relieving arch and drip
mould and 6-light oriel on 5 brackets with trefoil heads and roundels in
spandrels, wooden eaves cornice. Rear wing has remains of (possibly reset)
4-centred arched window, hood mould with stops. Interior: formerly through
passage plan. 2 C17 plank doors with strap hinges. C19 Gothic staircase and
stone fireplace in stair hall. Reputed to contain remains of mediaeval chapel
on or near site.
