Ha-ha and gate-piers to front of Beech Lawn and attached garden wall to right of Beech Lawn

Ha-ha and gate-piers and walls of walled garden. Mid-late C18. Ha-ha: punch-
dressed stone, ashlar coping, cast-iron railings; walled garden is of coursed
rubble with brown/red brick lining (stretcher bond). Ha-ha: retaining walls
form a circular island 3/4 round the house. To east and west monolithic gate-piers
with pyramid caps with remains of railings which has rail ramped towards piers,
and straight and wavy rods with spear-head finials. West end attached to left-
return of house. East end attached to walled-garden which is rectangular-on-plan,
walled on 3 sides with ramped coping and has, to east, 2 projecting segmental-
arched hoods over seats.
